Update: We are told that Project Cheshire is related to Wunderlist, an app that Microsoft acquired recently. Therefore, Project Cheshire could possibly be the upcoming update for Wunderlist on Windows 10.
Original article follows.
Microsoft is always testing new apps and services internally. One of the company’s latest projects is Project Cheshire, which was leaked just a little while ago. Currently, the app only shows a “coming soon” message when you open it up. However, we got our hands-on an internal version of the app, and we were able to try out the company’s upcoming app.
So what is Project Cheshire? It’s a to-do list app for Windows 10 devices which allows users to stay productive by keeping track of some tasks they need to do. Of course, Microsoft already owns Wunderlist, which is also a to-do list app — so why would the company release another to-do list app? Well, it seems like Project Cheshire could be a Microsoft Garage project.
Project Cheshire includes all the basic tasks: you can add new tasks, create a new project/to-do list, and the ability to sync to-do lists between devices (via Microsoft Account).
As Microsoft cited, the app is still in its early stage of developments, so it is missing some important features such as the ability to share a to-do list or add a contributor. Hopefully, Microsoft will add these features when the app is officially released.
